After opening the “Import Rules” screen, you will have access to the below screen.
This screen allows you to define a set of rules for each retailer to automatically import products from. Each retailer might have their own unique options, but the common options shared between all of them are as follows:
- Search type
- Search keyword
- Price range
You can define which type of search would you prefer to do over the retailer’s store. Common types are searching by keyword and searching by category. You can not have an empty keyword.
You can decide to only import the products within a specific price range. This can help you prevent importing the overpriced or low quality items.
You need to specify how many items should be imported within a specific period of time. This option hugely differs from user to user. You need to set a reasonable number of items to be imported within an also reasonable time. Setting a number too high might cripple your store, as shared hosts are not very powerful for handling many requests within a short period of time. It also can result to your account being flagged as spam on the retailer’s store. Importing one product every 10 minutes seems like a good start, as it also gives you time to also edit the imported items.
Please note that once a rule is added, it runs forever, until it’s manually removed.
